Indians Down on the Farm Update (4/10)

The Indians may be off to a slow start in this (extremely) young season, but so far their farm teams seem to be determined to reach Cleveland one day, if not in the near future. Here’s an early look/preview of the different Indians minor league ballclubs.

AAA: Columbus Clippers (5-1)

A year after winning the AAA Championship, the Clippers have started the 2012 campaign with similar success. The AAA team is loaded with some pretty impressive talent, and on some nights they’ve been more interesting to watch then the big league club. Here are some notable players and stats to open the season.

1B/OF Matt LaPorta 9-26, 3 HR, 5 RBI

AA: Akron Aeros (3-2)

The Aeros have gotten off to a strong start, but key players like Chun-Hsiu Chen and Nick Weglarz have struggled out of the gate.
